I haven’t seen any ants all day today, or yesterday. Though that might be because it is cold out right now. I have a feeling that once it warms up, I’ll be seeing them again. Oh well. For now, I shall enjoy the absence of them.
So, my mom sprayed my room for ants because I was still finding them, even after she sprayed around the house, and all around my windows. I WAS going to get on my computer just now, but guess what? I FOUND MORE FUCKING ANTS. Mom is going to call an exterminator tomorrow, but with the shitty luck I’ve been having, I bet good money that it won’t do jack to help. I’ve moved out to the living room now, and I’m half tempted to haul my desktop out here as well. This shit is getting old. REALLY fucking old. My fear of bugs is slowly being replaced by a fiery hatred for them. The only good thing that happened today is that I got an application to a job here in town. But, again, with the luck I have been having, I bet I’ll get turned down. I’m at the point where I just feel like nothing good is ever going to happen. It’s… depressing. You all are probably getting tired of me bitching, so I’ll stop now. Sorry if I wasted your time.
I kind of feel like I don’t deserve any of my followers right now. Bleugh. I’m tired. Maybe I should go to bed early. I don’t know.
That isn’t the point I was trying to make. The point I was trying to make was that the description provided by an earlier comment suggest that certain fps’s are just running around with flashy new guns, seeing an enemy and shooting them.
The point I was going for was “Isn’t that what all FPS’s boil down to?”
I’d say no. Metroid Prime was more about exploration, with shooting involved, for example.
It still involves running around and shooting right? The point I was trying to make was that at it’s core, the FPS genre involves running around and shooting in the first person view point, and that to play and FPS expecting it to be an FPS then getting mad at it because tada it’s an FPS just doesn’t make sense to me.
Now we’ve gone from “Isn’t that what all FPS’s boil down to?”, to “It has running around and shooting in it.”, which are slightly different things. An AWFUL LOT of video games have these things in without being based around them.
It’s only an FPS for lack of a better term, really. The idea is that not all FPS’s have to be like CoD, which is what the people above are going for, and they’re perfectly right.
I don’t think getting annoyed at FPS’s for being FPS’s is a good idea either, but I DO think getting annoyed at CoD being more or less the same game again and again would be reasonable enough if you were forced to buy it that is, which you’re NOT.
The best thing to get annoyed at here is people who complain about CoD being the same despite BUYING IT EVERY YEAR…
Apparently this picture (top) is currently circulating Facebook. This is some racist bullshit. Immigrants are dangerous? Is that the message?
Well clearly these people don’t know about the man in the cowboy hat from the Boston Marathon Bombing (bottom pic).
His name is Carlos Arrendondo. He has been a peace activist since 2004, when his son was killed serving his country in Iraq.
Carlos is an immigrant from Costa Rica. At first, he was an undocumented immigrant, but is now a US citizen.
When the bombs went off in boston that day, Carlos ran towards the carnage. He found Jeffery Bauman (the man in the wheelchair) lying on the ground in a pool of blood, both his legs blown off. He picked up Jeffery and carried him to a wheelchair, all while pinching shut his exposed artery to stop him from bleeding out.
Later, from his hospital bed, Jeffery described the bombing suspects to the police. Without Jeff, the police wouldn’t have been able to identify Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and his brother so quickly. And without Carlos, Jeff probably wouldn’t have lived to talk to the police.
Preventing legal immigration won’t stop massacres like this from occurring (just ask natural born US citizens like James Holmes, Adam Lanza, Jared Laughner, Eric Harris and Dylan klebold, and Timothy McVeigh).
But it will make it harder for the Carlos Arrendondos’ of the world to save more lives.
